CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

How do I register for a class or workshop?

All registrations are done online at https://classes.almontepottersguild.com/wp/adult-classes/.

If your chosen course is full, please put your name on our waiting list and we will contact you if an opening becomes available. We also contact people on our waiting lists when each new session of courses and workshops are open for registration.

Can I cancel a registration and get a refund?

Please review our cancellation and refund policy.

What happens when a class or workshop is canceled?

There will be times when we have to cancel a class due to inclement weather, sudden instructor illness or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. We will inform you by email or by phone if this occurs. Please review your email notifications before coming to each class/workshop.

Classes impacted by a cancellation for any of the above noted reasons will be extended and an email will be sent to inform you of the new end date for your course.

What to bring for my first class or a workshop?

We provide basic tools and supplies but you may bring your own labeled tools if you wish.

We suggest that you bring an apron and wear clothes that you do not mind getting dirty. Closed toe shoes are required in the studio and indoor shoes are required during the winter.

For wheel classes, we recommend that you avoid heels or flowing garments, tie back long hair, and remove all jewelry. Short nails are an asset. A bath-sized towel for your lap will help keep your clothes clean too.

Do I bring my own clay?

Only clay purchased from the Almonte Potters Guild can be used at the studio. 1/2 a bag of clay is included when you register for a course.

Are my pieces ready for pick up?

All participants will be emailed 2-3 weeks after their last class or workshop has ended with details on when the studio will be open for pick up.

It is recommended that you note how many pieces you made, what colour glaze you used on each piece and photos are great too! When coming to pick up your pieces, please bring a sturdy box or bag if you have several pieces. We only hold pieces for 4 weeks post class or workshop.

You will receive an email when your pottery is ready for pick up with specific dates and times. We are open every Wednesday from 12 noon to 3 pm.

What if I don’t finish my pieces during the course?

We cannot offer make-up classes due to the high volume of classes and studio potter usage of our facility.  Participants must complete all projects from their class by the last day when possible.

GIFT CERTIFICATES

We do offer gift certificates which can be purchased online. If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact our studio by phone at 613-256-5556 or email at studio@almontepottersguild.com.

DO YOU SELL POTTERY?

We do not have a retail space in our studio but we do have a few sales each year where our studio members sell their pottery. We advertise these events on our webpage and social media sites.

CUSTOM MADE POTTERY REQUESTS

We do have studio potter members who may be able to do custom orders. Please email us at studio@almontepottersguild.com or call at 613-256-5556.
