Alex studied Visual Arts at the University of Ottawa where she mainly focused on mixed media sculpture. Presently she teaches Art, Ceramics and English at Earl of
March Secondary School in Kanata.
Alex began to do pottery 18 years ago, when she was hired at Earl of March to teach English and Ceramics. She took a crash course in ceramics that summer and was
hooked for life.
Alex uses a combination of wheel and hand building techniques to push the possibilities of form while maintaining function. She also incorporates playful references to everyday household objects.
Alex recently joined the Almonte Pottery Studio and is excited to have the opportunity to share creative ideas and the love pottery with likeminded artists.
